Harmison suffers back spasm

Steve Harmison is in doubt for the first test against Sri Lanka this week after suffering a back spasm during a tour match.

Harmison was seen walking from the field, clutching his back and according to English coach Peter Moores it is not a recurrence of a previous injury.

“It’s a new injury, though Steve’s hoping it’s just a bit of a twinge. He felt it while he started to run up to bowl. He’s disappointed but the physio doesn’t think it is anything major and hopefully it will settle down in the next 24 to 36 hours and he can bowl in the second innings of this match,” Moores said.
