Fulton to bat three

John Bracewell has back tracked on his decision to bat Jacob Oram at three in deciding to move Peter Fulton back up the order to fill the position.

What appears to have prompted this change of heart by Bracewell was Oram being knocked out by a Brett Lee boucher during a friendly against Australia last weekend.

Bracewell said “Fulton was in very good touch against the West Indies on Sunday, top scoring with 51, so by putting him up to No. 3 means we can take some pressure off Jake. Brendon McCullum will both open and keep wickets. This gives us tremendous firepower right through the middle order with Dan Vettori probably coming in at No. 8.”

Twelve players have named for the match against Kenya with the twelve man to be decided upon a final inspection of the pitch.

New Zealand Squad
Daniel Vettori (captain), Lou Vincent, Brendon McCullum, Peter Fulton, Ross Taylor, Jacob Oram, Craig McMillan, Scott Styris, Shane Bond, Jeetan Patel, Mark Gillespie, Chris Martin.
