Bopara hurt ahead of World Cup
Zac Gelman |England’s Ravi Bopara has received a cruel blow ahead of the inaugural Twenty20 World Cup later this month after injuring himself during today’s ODI against India.
The 22 year old was sent to hospital for x-rays earlier today after being hit hard with the ball of his own bowling in the fifth ODI against India at Headingley.
Early reports from the England dressing room are that Bopara has been diagnosed with fractured dislocation of his right thumb, meaning it would be very unlikely for him to take part in England’s Twenty20 World Cup campaign starting in under two weeks in South Africa.
