Razzaq quits in protest

Pakistan’s Abdul Razzaq has today walked away from international cricket in response to the PCB dropping him from the Twenty20 World Cup squad.

“They dropped me from the Twenty20 World Cup squad and I was very upset and disappointed. But none of them bothered to call me up and tell me why I was dropped,” the all-rounder told Geo TV.

“Their attitude has hurt and disappointed me a lot which is why I have decided to retire from international cricket.”

Although he was named in the initial 30 man squad, Razzaq along with other experienced members such as Mohammad Yousuf and Rana Naved Ul-Hasan, were left out of the 15 man side that will make the trip to South Africa in September, named earlier in the month.

Razzaq has represented Pakistan in 46 tests and 231 ODIs, in over 10 years of service for his country. He has been linked to the Indian Cricket League, although he has said he is still deciding on whether he will accept their offer or not.
