Rain washes out Toronto ODI
Sudeep Popat |The second ODI between Netherlands and hosts Canada, at Toronto’s Cricket, Skating and Curling Club, was washed out due to rain.
Early morning rain resulted in a wet ground, however as soon as it stopped the groundsmen got to work. At one point of time, it looked as if a shorter match, possibly 30 overs each a side, would be possible, with the ground being cleared efficiently of water. However, just as the two captains came out for the toss, it started drizzling again.
An inspection an hour led the umpires to call off the match, thus awarding the series to the Dutch 1-0 through their 117-run win yesterday.
