ICC announce ODI law changes

The International Cricket Council have announced major law changes for one-day international cricket to be applied from October 1st.

The no-ball rule will be changed to include a free hit for the next delivery along with the one run extra, much like what was introduced with Twenty20 cricket.

The other changes to one-day cricket include a ball change after 35 overs of each innings and an extra fielder being allowed outside the fielding circle during the second and third power plays.

The decision by the ICC was made during their recent annual meeting at Lord’s in London.
