WIndies dominate tour match

Runako Morton has put the West Indies in a very strong position at the end of day two against the MCC after he hit a double century.

Fidel Edwards and Darren Sammy started the morning off well by cleaning up the tail to dismiss the MCC for 260.

Jerome Taylor was the pick of the bowlers taking 5-43 from 18 overs, while Shaaiq Choudhry top scored for the MCC with 54 not out. Captain and overseas player Sanath Jayasuriya failed to fire and was out for 18.

The West Indies lost the early wicket of Devon Smith in reply, but Runako Morton joined the captain Daren Ganga and together they put on a superb partnership of 161 runs before Ganga fell for 46.

Sylvester Joseph was next in and he followed on from Ganga by giving Morton the bulk of the strike and allowing him to cut loose against some now tiring bowling.

Morton was finally out late in the day for 201 off 246 balls including 27 fours and five sixes.

Denesh Ramdin and Darren Sammy were the not out batsman at the close with the West Indies 340-4 with one day remaining.
