Giles suffers further setbacks

England’s Ashley Giles is set to miss the rest of the county cricket season due to a persistent hip injury, after recently undergoing a third operation to rectify the problem in America.

“If everything goes to plan it will probably leave under a month left of the season,” he told the BBC.

“You have to ask yourself, ‘Is it worth pushing for that, risking going back a step, or do you just hang on and work hard during the winter?'”

“It is particularly frustrating. I can’t put a timeline on that. I’ve just go to keep working hard, keep my chins up and keep smiling.”
