Vaughan trips over pot-hole

England’s worries were further compounded yesterday when captain Michael Vaughan tripped over a pot-hole during training.

Although expected to be fit for Saturday’s vital match against Kenya, the skipper spent the session receiving ice treatment to his right knee.

England did not believe the injury to be serious enough to order scans, but the news comes during tense times in the English camp, with four players being fined for breaching curfew and Andrew Flintoff being suspended for the Canada match and stripped of the vice-captaincy after a late night drinking incident.

England play Kenya on Saturday at Beausejour Stadium, St Lucia in a match they must win to advance to the Super 8 stage of the tournament.
