“Roy” returns to bowling crease

Australian cricket fans and selectors have received a boost with news that Andrew Symonds bowled in the nets on the eve of the Netherlands match.

Australia team physio Alex Kountouris already ruled Symonds out of the Netherlands match however, but Ponting has said Symonds is expected to be available for selection for Australia’s final group match against South Africa on 24th March.

Australia vice-captain Adam Gilchrist commented to reporters saying “Symonds has made really solid progress. I think he is right on track. But when he gets back to playing an actual game, I’m not sure when that is.”
