Fulton and McMillan ready to go

Peter Fulton and Craig McMillan have been passed fit for New Zealand’s first group match against England after both overcoming injuries.

McMillan was hit in the foot by a Shane Bond yorker during training and was taken for an x-ray which showed severe bruising.

Fulton meanwhile has overcome his finger injury and is available for selection leaving the selectors with a few tough selection choices in the middle-order.

Mark Gillespie is the only player within the squad who is unavailable with the seam bowler struggling to shake off a virus.

A New Zealand team spokeman told the BBC that “Craig McMillan showed little discomfort when batting, bowling and fielding at the team’s practice on Thursday morning.”

“Peter Fulton also negotiated practice with little discomfort. Only Mark Gillespie has been ruled out with his injured shoulder.”
