Fleming looking to make amends

New Zealand captain Stephen Fleming is eyeing revenge against England in this weeks opener in St Lucia, after England humiliated New Zealand in Australia last month.

“We are looking forward to getting into that game against England – we have been for some time,” he said after scoring 65 in New Zealand’s victory over Sri Lanka in yesterday’s warm-up match.

“They are a good side, who have been playing pretty well, they’ve got Kevin Pietersen back, so it looks to be a very big game for both sides.”

“It’s a revival of the competition we had about a month ago – when they knocked us out. We’re looking to turn that around on the biggest stage.”

New Zealand’s 18 run victory came at a heavy price however, as Peter Fulton went down with a broken finger whilst taking the catch of Kumar Sangakkara. It is unclear how much cricket, if any, he will miss at this stage.
