Gilchrist gives Aussies a boost
James Nixon |Following the birth of his third child, Adam Gilchrist has made himself available for selection for the entire World Cup campaign.
Gilchrist’s third child named Archie was born in Perth on Saturday. The Australian wicket-keeper made the following statement:
“We’re delighted that Archie has arrived safely as a brother for Harrison [aged 5] and Annie [aged 2]. Melinda and Archie are fit and well.”
Gilchrist missed the recent Chappell-Hadlee Trophy to be with his wife, and is now expected to join the Australian squad for their first warm-up match against Zimbabwe in St Vincent on 6 March.
Australia play another warm-up match against England on 9 March before the real stuff begins against Scotland in St Kitts on Wednesday, 14 March.
