Lee given till 11th hour

Injured fast bowler Brett Lee has been given until the day before Australia departs to the World Cup in the Caribbean to prove his fitness.

Such are their concerns for Australia’s bowling lineup heading into the World Cup, that Cricket Australia have done everything in their power to try and get Lee fit and ready in time for the sides departure next month, according to The Age.

Lee suffered a ligament injury to his left ankle during the preparation for the recently completed Chappell-Hadlee Trophy. His withdrawal from the side exposed the Australian attack which was not able to defend scores in excess of 300 runs in two of the three matches played.
