Aussies could slip down rankings

World Champions Australia will slip down to second place in the one-day international rankings if they lose the Chappell-Hadlee series to New Zealand the International Cricket Council have said.

South Africa will move up to first place if it does take place after the Proteas beat Pakistan in a recent series.

Australia have been top of the rankings since October 2002.
