Oram ruled out of Chappell-Hadlee

Jacob Oram has been ruled out of the final two matches of the Chappell-Hadlee series after fracturing his ring finger during the opening match of the series in Wellington and is likely to miss the Black Caps opening World Cup match against England on 16th March.

Oram injured his ring finger while completing the catch to dismiss Mitchell Johnson.

Black Caps general manager Lindsay Crocker said in a statement that “Jacob will see a specilaist in Hamilton on Monday to determine the management of the injury. He will remain with the squad to keep on track with his World Cup preparations. At this stage, we are confident he will travel to the World Cup.”

Peter Fulton has been named as Oram’s replacement.
