Broad called up for finals

England have called up Stuart Broad for the Commonwealth Bank Tri-Series finals against Australia starting in Melbourne on Friday.

Broad comes into the squad following Jon Lewis, Chris Tremlett and James Anderson all returning home due to injuries with England management not wanting to in-flame their injuries.

Broad flies in from India where he was attending an RF pace bowling foundation course in Chennai..

England coach Duncan Fletcher told the BBC that “Chris Tremlett has a back injury and he would be in some pain if he took part in any of the finals.”

“Jon Lewis is one of those injuries that we are not prepared to risk so he is going to go back to the UK.

“It is difficult to say exactly what his injury is. It is around the Achilles area, but they will have a good look at it.”
