Styris come-back begins
James Nixon |Scott Styris has returned to cricket after playing for his domestic side the Auckland Aces against the Wellington Firebirds in a domestic Twenty20 match.
Styris who had been approved to start bowling again completed four overs for 35 runs and took the wickets of Chris Nevin and Michael Parlane.
In reply to Wellington’s total of 148-6 from 20 overs, Auckland got the target with ease in finishing on 150-3 from 18.3 overs with Styris contributing 18 runs from 10 balls before being dismissed by Wellington seam bowler Grant Elliott.
Styris is preparing to join the Black Caps for the Commonwealth Bank Series across the Tasman.
