Fleming back for fourth ODI

Stephen Fleming will return to the Black Caps lineup and take over the captaincy from Daniel Vettori for the fourth ODI against Sri Lanka at Eden Park in Auckland on Saturday.

Black Caps coach John Bracewell has continued his conversional rotation policy by re-including Craig McMillan and Jeetan Patel, while Nathan Astle is rested and James Marshall dropped.

Patel gained some much needed match practice yesterday in the State Shield for Wellington scoring one with the bat and taking 1-41 from 10 overs in a 113 run loss to Northern Districts.

Bracewell told the NZ Herald that “with the continued use of Brendon McCullum at the top of the order, it is now necessary to introduce a player who can provide a powerful finish to the innings and we are looking to Craig to provide that. James Marshall is the unlucky one to miss out, but we want him to continue to put pressure on those selected in the squad.”

New Zealand lead the series 2-1 with two games to play.
