Watson out of second Ashes Test

Shane Watson is out of the second Ashes Test in Adelaide after having not fully recovered in time to be considered for selection.

The Australia physiotherapist Alex Kountouris told media that “The outcome was that his hamstring injury is still not fully recovered and it was decided that the second Test would be too early a return in the circumstance.”

Kountouris went on to say that “his rehabilitation will continue with a view to him being available for selection for the third Test in Perth.”

The second Test starts in Adelaide this coming Friday with the selectors set to name the squad on Tuesday.
