Bond to continue playing Tests

Shane Bond has confirmed to the NZ Hearald newspaper that he is available for selection for the upcoming Sri Lanka test series.

There was speculation that Bond will sit out the two Test-series to rest his back but that has been put to bed with Bond saying he expects to be picked, form pending.

Bond sat out Canterbury’s recent State Championship match against Otago, but had some bowling practice on Saturday and appeared to suffer no ill effects.

Michael Papps has been ruled out of the test series while Scott Styris is in severe doubt after he is still not over the injury he suffered during the Champions Trophy.

The first Test starts on 7th December at Jade Stadium in Christchurch.
