Sri Lanka name squads

Uncapped Akalanka Ganegama and Chamara Silva have been called into Sri Lanka’s Test squad to play New Zealand.

Ganegama is a seam bowler with 4 ODIs under his belt, the last of which was in the VB series earlier this year. Silva’s last ODI was against England in 2002, and the batsman has scored just one half-century in his 10 ODIs to date.

The ODI squad is largely the same as that which competed in the Champion’s Trophy, except for the addition of Silva. Despite being named in the ODI squad, Marvan Atapattu has not been named in the Test side as he feels he is not quite ready to return to the longer form of the game.
