Tests – a batsmen-dominated game
James Nixon |Pakistani batsman Mohammad Yousuf has criticised the current Lahore pitch and pitches world-wide for being too batsmen friendly.
Yousuf brought up his 20th Test century yesterday against the West Indies, and told reporters that:
“The pitch is a flat one and there was nothing in it for the bowlers. Unfortunately cricket the world over is dominated by batsmen due to such pitches.”
“I think world over, wickets in general are flat and Test cricket has become a batsmen-dominated game.”
Yousuf went on to say that he would like to see more lively and bouncy tracks that could encourage the bowlers.
He gave the example of the perfect cricket wicket being one like The Gabba in Brisbane which has good bounce and helps the strokeplayers too.
