Gillespie to captain PM’s XI

Jason Gillespie has been handed the chance to press for a place in the Ashes team after being named captain of a Prime Minister’s XI.

The Prime Minister’s XI play England in a one-day game in Canberra on 10th November, which is the tourists first match of the Ashes tour.

Shaun Tait also joins Jason Gillespie in the PM’s XI and both players will be pressing for the third seamers spot alongside Glenn McGrath and Brett Lee.

Phil Jaques, Cameron White and Mark Cosgrove are the other players to have played international cricket for Australia that have been named within the team.
