Naved-ul-Hasan out injured

Pakistan fast bowler Naved-ul-Hasan will miss the first Test against England on July 13th after failing to recover from a groin injury in time.

Pakistan coach Bob Woolmer said Naved is showing encouraging signs but isn’t ready for a fitness test and has not managed to work his way back up to full pace in the nets yet.

This places even more pressure on Umar Gul, Shahid Nazir Mohammad Sami and Mohammad Asif now with the experienced Shoaib Akhtar also on the sidelines.
