Taibu eyes South Africa future
James Nixon |Former Zimbabwe captain and wicket-keeper Tatenda Taibu has committed himself to a future with South Africa.
Taibu left Zimbabwe last year after his family was threatened by people linked to Zimbabwe Cricket and has been applying his trade in England recently with the Lashings World XI.
Taibu has four years to qualify for South Africa, but he is only 23 years of age, and has time on his side.
He told the The Times newspaper in England: “I will never return to the Zimbabwe side, South Africa is the best option.”
Taibu played 84 one-day internationals and 24 Test matches for Zimbabwe from 2001 to 2005.
