Tendulkar to miss Windies tour
Liam Camps |Premier batsman, Sachin Tendulkar will miss India’s tour of the Caribbean through injury. Tendulkar, 33, has failed to recover from the shoulder injury that kept him out of the one-day international series against England earlier this year. He was omitted from the Indian ODI squad currently competing against the West Indies and will now miss the Test series as well.
Tendulkar’s injury troubles have been frequent and well documented, as has been his prolonged period of bad form when he has been fit to play. Subsequently, questions continue to arise over the future of his playing career and what his role is in Indian cricket in this, his apparent twilight.
Reports are uncertain as to when Tendulkar will be make his return to international cricket, but officials suggest that it will not be until he is fully fit. He has been working with former India physiotherapist, Andrew Leipus, and will leave tonight for London, where he is expected to consult Andrew Wallace, who performed the operation on his shoulder.
Wasim Jaffer, the Indian opener, passed his fitness test today, and will join the Indian part for the upcoming 4-Test series.
