Tendulkar likely for Tests
Sudeep Popat |Sachin Tendulkar, in all likeliness, may be fit for the Test series on India’s tour of the West Indies. He had undergone a shoulder surgery back in March. He has shown more than satisfactory progress thus far.
Tendulkar is due to start light batting drills in a few days, and if found to be not strained by it, he will definitely be on target for making it to the first Test against the West Indies, starting June 2.
In a press release, Niranjan Shah, the secretary of BCCI, said, “All aspects of the recovery have to this point gone as planned and he has adapted well to the implementation of the strength components of his programme. Sachin has been advised further strengthening exercises as well as to implement more functional shoulder activities. The original time frame discussed by the surgeon at the time of the operation appears to be still relevant.”
