West Indies Suffer In Sri Lanka
Richard Twyman |West Indies kicked off their Sri Lanka tour on a dismal note as the visitors were bowled out for just 110 against a Board President’s XI.
Spinners Rangana Herath (3-23) and Kaushal Lokuarachchi (3-15) took three wickets apiece for a strong Board President’s XI in the two-day tour match, the West Indies lasting just 51 overs after being put in to bat.
Only a handful of players made it into double figures with the spinner Omari Banks the top-scorer with just 18.
In reply the hosts were 152-1 at close of the first day and seemed completely untroubled with captain Marvan Atapattu leading the way unbeaten on 78 (85).
