Somerset sign Langeveldt
Sudeep Popat |English county Somerset have signed South African pace-man Charl Langeveldt, as their replacement for Sri Lanka’s Sanath Jayasuriya, who has had to return home for preparations for the country’s upcoming two-Test series against West Indies, and the following ODI tri-series also including India.
Langeveldt, who has played four Tests and 15 ODIs, will be leaving for England, as soon as he gets the nod from the South African board, and join his national captain Graeme Smith at Taunton.
Langeveldt has already seen profuse limelight so far in his short international career, taking a five-wicket haul against England on Test debut, and picking up a hat-trick in an ODI against West Indies in trying circumstances, to help carve an unlikely win.
