Plunkett promoted to Test squad

Uncapped seam-bowling prospect, Liam Plunkett has been called to the England Test squad for the upcoming tour of Pakistan. The tour is scheduled to begin next month, and Plunkett replaces the injured Simon Jones.

The 20-year-old Durham seamer was selected for the England One Day International squad to tour Pakistan, and has now been promoted as Jones failed to recover from his injury, sustained in the fourth Ashes Test at Trent Bridge in August.

Plunkett has taken 101 First Class wickets in his career, at an average of 31.77. In the recently completed season, he took 51 wickets at 30.84 apiece.
