Khaled Mahmud retires
Liam Camps |Former Bangladesh captain, Khaled Mahmud has announced his retirement from international cricket. Mahmud claims the decision is due to his inability to hold a permanent place in the team.
This is the second time that Mahmud has retired from the international arena. In 2004, he was dropped from the team ahead of Bangladesh’s tours of Namibia and Zimbabwe. The retirement lasted less than two days.
At 34 years of age, Mahmud has played 12 Tests and 76 One Day Internationals. He scored 266 Test runs (12.09) and 955 ODI runs (14.04), and took 13 Test wickets (64.00) and 67 wickets in ODIs (42.53).
