Best back for Bajans
Liam Camps |Following Fidel Edwards’ return to First Class competition two games ago, Bajan pacer Tino Best is set to comeback from injury. Best was reported to be fit for a couple of weeks, but Edwards was favoured to ease back into the team first.
The talented and genuinely quick bowler, Best has been out of action since the first Test of the West Indies’ dismal tour of England last year. He pulled up with a back injury and was forced home. His expected return, for the ICC Champions’ Trophy, was delayed as the condition worsened, but now returns to serious competition.
Best has been drafted into the Barbados squad ahead of the game against this seasons’ powerhouse, Jamaica. He replaces the much-hyped Jason Bennett and is accompanied by Ian Bradshaw, who will play his first competitive cricket since the VB Series earlier this year.
Barbados, last year’s champion, sits in last place among the six teams competing in the Carib Beer Series.
