Somerset Line Up McLean

Somerset CCC has confirmed that they are in talks with the former West Indies fast bowler Nixon McLean about a possible return to Taunton.

Somerset had previously signed South African pairing of Graeme Smith and Albie Morkel, however it has now been revealed that Morkel is facing surgery and a lengthy enough lay off from the game that a deputy is required.

McLean is no stranger to the County Ground, having turned out for the County last season where he had a relatively successful spell taking 43 wickets at 26.2 in the County Championship and 16 wickets at 26.12 in the shorter version of the game.

With his International days seemly behind him now, being able to stay the whole summer could be one of the major factors that Somerset are looking at.
