Brooke Walker Retires

Auckland captain and former Black Cap Brooke Walker has announced his retirement from all cricket after leading Auckland to the 2004/05 State Championship last summer.

Brooke Walker made his first-class debut in the 1997/98 season and took 164 wickets across 84 first-class games at an average of 32 while scoring 1769 runs with the bat at an average of 21.57.

Unfortunately for Walker he never quite took the extra step up and only played five tests and 11 ODIs for New Zealand and had a poor record in both forms of the game.

Brooke Walker retires at a young age of 28 and led Auckland to three State Championship titles as captain.
