Paul Marsh Named New Head

The Australian Cricketers’ Association today announced the appointment of Paul Marsh to the role of Chief Executive.

Following the resignation of Tim May from the role in early March, a national search was conducted to find a new Chief Executive.

After an extensive interview process, Paul Marsh emerged as the most outstanding candidate for the position and will commence in the role from 1 July 2005.

ACA President Ian Healy confirmed that the ACA Executive was delighted with the appointment.

“I am pleased to announce that Paul Marsh has been appointed to the role of Chief Executive of the Australian Cricketers’ Association,” Ian Healy said earlier today.

“We consider the role of ACA Chief Executive to be one of the most important and influential positions within the cricket community and it was essential that the role be filled by a person with a passion for the game and its players.

“Through his role as Manager of Member Services and Operations with the ACA, Paul has developed knowledge of the issues and built relationships with key stakeholders that will ensure he is an outstanding leader for the association.

“Paul also comes from a family with a fine Australian cricket pedigree.

“As the son of former Australian wicket keeper Rod Marsh and brother of Tasmanian captain Daniel Marsh, Paul possesses invaluable insight into the life of cricketers and the pressures they face,” Healy said.

Newly appointed Chief Executive Paul Marsh confirmed that he was looking forward to the challenge of heading the ACA.

“I am thrilled to accept the position of Chief Executive of the Australian Cricketers’ Association,” Marsh said in Melbourne earlier today.

“Having worked with the ACA and for Australia’s past and present cricketers for the last three and a half years, I am ready for and excited by challenges this role will bring.

“My vision for the ACA is to ensure we make a genuine difference in the lives of our members.

“I would also like to thank Tim May for the assistance he has provided me in my time at the ACA and take this opportunity to congratulate him on the outstanding job he has done for our members,” he said.
