Pathan denies signing, as of now

Contrary to what we reported yesterday, Irfan Pathan, according to local newspapers from Baroda, from where he hails, has not signed with Middlesex, at least not yet.

When contacted at his home by the local news agencies following the news of the signing that appeared yesterday, Pathan said, “I have many offers. I don’t want to comment on it now. I’ll let you know by Tuesday.”

Pathan, who has taken 45 wickets in 13 Tests and 47 in 29 ODIs for India, was said to have signed by Middlesex already, as a substitute overseas player for the injured Nantie Hayward. He still might end up signing with Middlesex itself, but for the time being, there hasn’t been any official binding.
