John Wright eyes NZ coaching role

Former Indian and Kent coach John Wright is looking to return to coaching and has said the Black Caps would be his preferred option.

After leaving the Indian coaching role, Wright has spent the past year working on his farm in Canterbury.

Current New Zealand coach John Bracewell’s coaching contract expires after the World Cup in the Caribbean next year.

Wright applied for the role as Black Caps coach back in 1999 after Steve Rixon announced his resignation, and was left angered by the selection process.

John Wright’s autobiography goes on sale in bookshops in New Zealand today.
