You just have to find the balance mate. I think most players are in a similar boat - understandable when you're starting work that you need to get that bedded in before taking on other ****, but most of us have had to find that balance to make it work. And have to accept that sometimes the balance isn't achieved and that work (or family!) has to take priority.

yeah 110% i am not the first bloke on cricketweb to have professional commitments - probably somewhere around the forty thousandth - but it is all about balance and figuring out how to find it. do have a project for that subforum i'm working on when i find the time to kick it off but that could be a way away hehe

"Aha does this mean you think you’re a cynical person? I don’t think you are at all."

Nah was being a bit tongue in cheek. A lot of people call me a cynic irl though because they either don't know the difference between a sceptic and a cynic or because they knew me when I was 16.

Yeah that makes more sense, I was also very cynical at 16.

It got me thinking about what I mean by cynical, which I found hard to articulate. But one of my thoughts was that a cynical person would never be able to let themselves enjoy DND as much as you do.

Haha there are some absolute grunts in the hobby too. I suppose you could argue that none of them are enjoying it.
