Warwickshire
Only the end of Ashley Giles spell with the club was viewed as a significant loss. Otherwise the squad is pretty much intact with some new additions.
After the disapointments of last season Warwickshire have built a steady base for another charge for promotion in the four day league. The batting and bowling are stronger, but will it be enough against the promoted Canterbury and relegated Western Australia, and will the new addition of weather screw us over???
The four day batting lineup will likely revolve around Warwickshires star player Daniel Howarth. Howarth had a very good season 3, and was unlucky to miss out on the rookie of the year award. This season the manager and other Warwickshire staff had done all they can possibly do to make sure Howarth doesn't from hot shot wanka syndrome. Something took the minds of former rookies B Allen, T Darden and M Jenkins who turned to **** after promising rookie years. If Howarth can avoid this he may be destined to become one of WCCs best player, if he isn't already.
Howarths back up will come from 4d captain and the only player to have been with Warwickshire since Christensen took over in season 2. Sriram is backed up Owen Hemp and Tyrone Rowell, and Ian Bell. The batting line up is stronger but lacks an allrounder which would give it the edge.
The bowling will be spearheaded by Ben Gregson who after picking 50 in his rookie season, will be hoping for more good fortunes to come his way this season. As well as Gregson the four day attack includes Danish Kaneria, 1st round pick Kevin Dean and Muhummad Hasnain.
Warwickshire have the four day up to get promoted to division two. Its just a matter of things going our way, and if they do, we might find ourselves in division two next season.
As for one day, its anyones guess as to who will win. IMO there are five sides who can win promotion into division two. Warwickshire will be hoping to avoid relegation in this scrap, though but if thing go our way, we might just win....
yep...
