Worst bowler to get a test six fer?

I didn't include him because he wasn't a left handed spinner... but damn you include him and then throw in Boof(who's best was a 3 fer, but it was critical during that game) and we had some decent part time spinners the last few years. Who was the best out of these six?

Also, I wonder what Clarke's bowling average was against India

Well Clarke averaged mid 30s bowling against India.... no idea he racked up 160 overs against them, assumed it was only those two famous tests where he bowled at them

hmmm... I was about to choose Agarkar in the ODI draft thread. Maybe I should go Srinath instead

Statistically speaking Bangladeshi Manjurul Islam would have to be up there. Once took 6-81, but his 28 test career wickets came at a cost of over 57.

Also, special mention for Rubel Hossain, who once took a 5-fer, 5-166, but career-wise has 32 wickets @ 75.9

Katich and Border were actually pretty good bowlers, Bevan not a bad shout. I wouldn't call them bad by any stretch of the imagination

He was actually good for a time. Hang your head in shame.

Anyway, I'd hazard a guess at Darren Sammy or Mohammad Zahid
Zahid was ever quicker then Akhtar but then a career ending back injury ended his career came back 5 years later played couple of tests but was not the same anymore. His over to Lara is floating around still on youtube he was frighteningly quick.

I recall him from the late 90s and just watched a couple of clips to remind me. He certainly did look brisk, but Akhtar is one of only 3-4 bowlers in history to have been clocked >160 kms, so it's hard to think Zahid would have got it through any quicker than that.

I have met couple on test cricketers from 90's who faced both Shoaib and Zahid both in the nets aswell at FC level and they both conclude Zahid was a shade quicker he also got more disconcerting bounce then Akhtar who was skiddier of the two. Ofcourese its a possibility Shoaib gained a yard or two during his peak in early to mid 00's and may have actually ended up as the faster of the two.
