WORST australian fielder of all time

Lol when they go straight up that high and your fielding in the circle they come down vertical. Underrated catch if you take that in amateur cricket! But rarely see pros spill them.
Unless you've got experience with these high catches in packed stadiums, under lights, it's hard to imagine how much of a difference it makes. The lights make it a lot harder. Still shouldn't be getting dropped by professionals though

I bet pros take high catches with much much greater regularity in practice compared to games. They're very simple for their level as long as wind is minimal, but there's so much time to think about the pressure you're under.

Disclaimer that I find high catches a lot easier than low ones.

I'd say a player who looked a below average fielder (but certainty wasnt) was Mike Hussey
Great pair of hands. But would say he was pretty unathletic in the field and had a really underwhelming arm. It wasn't truly bad, just ordinary for a pro

This is very true. He was a fine fielder but he looked very unwieldy for some reason, unnatural almost.

The commentators kept saying what a great fielder he was as well which annoyed me as a kid. I think he got carried along with the likes of Clarke, Ponting and Symonds so he was grouped in as a great fielder as well

Hussey is one of my favourite players of the last generation. Solid catcher with great reflexes and awareness. Just really ungainly in the field chasing leather! Bit like Alastair Cook in some regards

Was seriously 'cricket fit' though. Guy was an absolute workhorse pushing those 1s and 2s
