Currently 116 wickets away.

Wickets around world cricket the most bowler/pace friendly they've been in decades.

A lot of current batsmen perhaps a little less technically and mentally apt for Test cricket because of the innovation of Twenty20 cricket.

Tom Brady played until he was in his mid 40s. Could Anderson do the same?

How nervous are Sri Lankans getting?

Not going to lie, the guy has come a long long way. Most impressed by his series in Pakistan than anything else.

Only Bowlers in the Cricket History to take 275+ Wickets at home

James Anderson needs 65 Wickets to break the record of Muralidaran as the Most Successful Bowler at home.

Most probably not.

Sei Lankans have lot more things to be nervous than Murali's record. For instance to start winning matches once more.

You wouldn't be gutted if Murali lost the record?

It wouldn't only deprive Sri Lanka of their one major leading statistical achievement in Test cricket but it could also take some long term sting out of the "Murali >Warne" viewpoint in retrospect.

Sri lanka also has the highest team total record. That's pretty significant as well.

What ?
No one considers Kapil Dev better than Richard Hadlee or Pollock better than Marshall based on number of wickets .

Casual fans could easily see it as a point in their favour considering how close of a comparison it is between Warne and Muralidaran. How they overtook each other during their careers for leading wicket taker. Most cricket fans aren't die-hard statsguru analysts.

The other comparisons aren't as applicable or are as renowned in cricketing folklore.

Don't really see what's so funny about that tbh.

Didn't even know that. I think in a general sense most people would know Tendulkar has the most runs and centuries, Lara the highest score, Bradman the highest average and Muralidaran most wickets.

If he stays fit, he's gotta have a reasonable chance. He could have retired years ago if he wanted. Desire is necessary, and fitness is too. I think this current England ethos is feeding the desire part, which may keep him going for long enough. But, if he gets a decent-sized injury at any point now, I suspect he'll hang up his boots.

Murali has highest ODI wicket tally, most 5ers and 10ers, SL has highest test total and dismissed a side for lowest ODI total. There are plenty of records, but in my eyes, they are good on players and teams who performed them, but has nothing to do with current team. That is the most important to us.

And of course Murali is slightly better test bowler and in ODIs here is light years ahead of Warne. So there is not even a question who is the better all format spinner.
