Will any team ever dominate all three formats?

That wasn't a pop by me, incidentally - I wasn't at all suggesting India doesn't care about Tests right now. I just hope they continue to hold it as the pinnacle, when a generation comes through mostly raised on IPL. That generation isn't far off, given if they were young in 2008, they will start being those 20-something year olds.
I think when Kohli was captain and Shastri was coaching they made the test format feel a lot more important for India. They built one the best Indian test teams ever and prioritised trying to win away. We’ll see how important India treats it once Kohli retires.

New Zealand were the closest in recent memory as far as titles go, tying the 2019 ODI final, winning the WTC and losing the toss and therefore the 2021 T20 final. Could have easily held all three.

No, we will never see one. West Indies wanted to prove a point, those insults hurled fired them up to be the greatest test side of all time. It was not a game to them at all.

Aussies simply aimed for sporting excellence, their domination was a reflection of the love they had for sports/outdoors.

The next time a cricket team actually dominates the game, they should be as driven as the teams stated above.
