WI 60s vs WI 70s/80s

Sliferxxxx

State Vice-Captain
Self explanatory, I choosing the teams from the time both arguably ascended to no1. For WI 60s probably after their triumph in England in 1963 and for 70s WI after beating Australia away in 1979/80. The teams:

Hunte
Carew
Kanhai
Butcher
Solomon
Sobers
Worrell*
Murray+
Hall
Griffith
Gibbs

Vs

Greenidge
Haynes
Viv
Kallicharan
Rowe
Lloyd*
Murray +(lol)
Roberts
Garner
Holding
Croft

5 tests in WI: Sabina/Kensington pacy, QPO spin friendly, Bourda and ARG flat. Any takers??

the latter is just way more balanced, Lloyd and Kalicharan were sensational players of spin bowling and would negate the spin advantage Gibbs brings in, and the gap between Griffith/Hall and that trio is far too big.

Qualitative thing Hall and Croft are similar, Griffith a bit back; and then there's that trio...... 60s batting is better but they still carry 2 passengers for this level.

Croft is their 4th pacer, Hall is the prior team's first, you're in horrible trouble if their 4th pacer is equivalent to your first.

Where do you think the 60s have the best chance?? Ofcourse a pace friendly wicket is no diff. A super flat one where they can bat themselves out with that ridiculous depth?? Probs a draw. Their bowlers can't get them and Garner and Roberts, and ofcourse, especially Holding, are some of the bowlers most capable of taking the pitch out of the equation. Probs a Rank turner so spicy a result being guaranteed is their best bet. Still those pacers will be a huge problem, but the Gibbs advantage can atlast play out. He with support from Sobers probably can clinche a victory. Another plus is both Lloyd and Kallicharran being lefties and Gibbs arguably the best spinner ever to them.

1960s style Bourda and Queen's Park Oval as they're slower wickets, if they win the toss they can put like 500-600 on the board ynless Garner and Holding cause a storm, their batting is absurdly strong so I think they can pull it off, as the wicket detorirates Gibbs and Sobers would be an insane problem.
