Worked last time we played India at home.Probably Smarsh actually. May as well take the oppertunity to be ambitious and go for who you think has the highest ceiling.
Tend to agree if he's fit. Looks amazing against quality bowling when others struggle.Probably Smarsh actually. May as well take the oppertunity to be ambitious and go for who you think has the highest ceiling.
MMarsh strikes me as the kind of guy who relishes on a bigger stage -- he's been given a taste of Test cricket and has proven that he can score runs there in spite of his domestic record, so we may as well stick with him for a home series against India and see how he goes. Plus it eases the strain on Watson in terms of bowling -- they can split those 5th bowler overs.Watson probably. Only question is, what would that do to Mitch Marsh? I'd take the risk of playing him largely as a specialist bat as he's been the only one who's really come out of this tour with much credit, but his actual FC career hasn't inspired that much confidence (yes yes I know a lot of those games were played when he was very young, but still....) and it's still somewhat risky to think he can handle being a specialist bat against the best attacks. Granted though, that probably isn't relevant for India
