Who has been the most pain in the ass for India the most while being okayish/just good against other countries?

Off the top of my head, below names come to my mind. Somehow, all are lefties.

Travis Head
Matthew Hayden
Andy Flower
Sanath Jayasuriya
Saeed Anwar
Dean Elgar

Flower is a borderline ATG bat and Hayden is close to him, they belong in a separate discussion. Jayasuriya and Anwar are also genuinely ATG in ODIs (Anwar pretty great in Tests too). Don't think Elgar did anything in India or in ODIs against us.
So Head by far. It literally gives me the shivers when he comes to bat against us these days. World Cup Final, WTC Final, this series till now..... Dude, **** off!!!!!

India have only won one test match in NZ in the last 50 years. Just when they were about to win another and 100/1 on favs, B Mac said nah **** you.
Apart from that triple ton though not sure he was too much of a bogey for them.
I think he did pretty well. 4 tons and 2 fifties in 10 tests. 2 doubles and a triple plus a century when he was still keeping. Had a poor series in India in 2012 but apart from that has been very good. 68 average against them (50 in India). Very marked improvements on his stats vs others. Fits the thread title quite well I would’ve thought.

Bert Sutcliffe also another Kiwi to consider but I’m assuming the OP was more looking for modern players.

His 200 the week before the 300 was series winning, and from a losing in-game position. If my memory is right.

Not really? What did he do against us?

Both at Southampton, as it turns out.
