Which team had the greatest slip cordon ever?

It wasn't just Garner, lol. It was collective skill at catching, and a willingness to commit many fielders to the task (the bowling quality didn't make things any easier), which made that slip cordon the most fearsome in the world.

Honestly, a large part of the percieved quality and threat of slip fielders will come down to fast bowling quality. Mark Waugh on the current Sri Lanka side is hardly scaring anyone, sorry to say.

Waugh, Warne and Taylor in the 90s slips were also quite awesome.

I agree you need pace bowling resources to make the slips more valuable too.

I think the best Australian cordons I've seen are:

Taylor, M Waugh, Warne with S Waugh in the gully.

Once Taylor went, Warne, M Waugh, Ponting, S Waugh was also exceptional.

As was Chappell, Stackpole, Chappell, Walters in the gully.

The 80s Windies side had a terrific cordon with Lloyd, Richards, Greenidge and Hooper all there or thereabouts with Garner in the gully, and occasionally Roger Harper.

Whatever it takes!!!
It was not as great but when we had Dravid, Laxman, Sehwag and Kumble in the gully it was a pretty awesome cordon. They hardly dropped any and took a LOT of good catches. It was unfortunately rather short lived and then Sehwag moved to gully and Sachin, for some reason insisting on being first slip. It became Sachin, Laxman, Dravid with Sehwag at gully once Kumble and Ganguly retired in the same series.
