Which pacers would you rank ahead of Murali and Warne as bowlers?

bagapath

International Captain
Giving matchwinnig ability the highest weightage.
which means taking four-fers and five-fers and ten-fers.
producing match winning/ series turning spells at will.
getting champion batsmen out cheaply.
wringing out victories from the jaws of defeat.

Pace bowlers superior to Warne and Murali:

Marshall
Hadlee
Lillee
Barnes

Pace bowlers at par with Warne and Murali:

McGrath
Ambrose
Imran
Steyn

Pace bowlers marginally below Warne and Murali:

Akram
Donald
Holding
Trueman

One other spinnner who truly belonged in their league was Tiger O'reilley
Together these names should make the top 15 bowlers of all time

Then no one matches Murali.

The thing to look is how they fared when it went real bad. McGrath and Hadlee rarely had it bad and even when it was tough on them was OK with the ball. Perhaps Marshall and Garner too but they have lesser such spells. Marshall was all about sending 5 - 6 batsmen of the opposition to the hut regularly and cheaply.

Hence they are better.
