He's been playing for Derbyshire for a few years now, scoring buckets of runs.

He will be captain in 2004 after Dominic Cork's departure.

Opens for Tasmania in the ING Cup (OD comp) & bats at 4 in the Pura Cup.
He's really been underacheiving badly in both forms for a few years now.
He's having a pretty healthy Pura Cup this year , a big hundred against NSW in a run chase , but he's still underdone in the shorter form.

Strange that Derbyshire have swapped his opening roles around. From mid-2001 onwards.
Even more strange that it's worked for so long. Mind, they did put him back to open last season in one-dayers, and it worked also.
